A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject.

If you have never watched an episode of Blood+ the following could be considered spoilers. Since you are here, I am assuming this is not the case. However, I will guarantee that any information I present is information that has already been seen in episodes released by the fansub groups; and therefore can be considred common knowledge. This information is spoiler-free.


Jahana Mao is the girlfriend of Kai, and her father is the head of so-called "Jahana Enterprises" (really, the Jahana Yakuza). She doesn't appear to be particularly fond of Otonashi Saya. After the disappearance of Kai, Saya and thier family, she is exremely perturbed. When Okamura Akihiro appears at her high school, investigating Saya's wherebouts, Mao steals 50 million yen from her father and basically forces herself as his patroness. She is brash, outspoken and doesn't seem to particularly care about most opinions of her, but she seems to genuinely care for Kai and is desperate to find him.


Okamura Akihiro is a reporter working for the Ryuukyuu Mainichi Shimbun newspaper. He first comes across the mystery of Saya while investigating the string of sensless murders around Okinawa. When the mystery grows deeper, he begins to realize that it seems to have a connection with photographs his father (a war photographer) took in Vietnam. Travelling there, Okamura makes the startling discovery of Saya and a Chiropteran in battle. He realizes that she is the same girl as in his father's earlier photographs, and becomes determined to find her.


After running from members of the Jahana Yakuza, the two begin to trace the paths taken by Saya and Red Shield. Thier relationship seems to be one of convenience, but when we see them again in France, and then at Cinq Fleche, you can tell they are fairly comfortable around each other, enought so that they can give each other a hard time. It becomes more apparent in episode 25 that they are comfortable together, even to the point of sharing a single room. They seem to spend most of thier time together; Mao even goes with Okamura to the library in Paris day after day, despite being visibly bored. After discovering Saya and Red Shield's whereabouts, Mao does her best to convince Kai to let her be with him. However, it seems Kai's feelings toward her have vanished. He treats her as nothing more than a pest. David refuses to acknowledge any of the information Okamura has gathered and in the end the two are shut out. After the time jump in the anime, we see that Mao and Okamura are still hanging together (*wink wink*) and they have apparently been accepted into what's left of Red Shield. Okamura assists David and Lewis by gathering information about the Goldsmiths, and organizations that may be connected to them. Mao spends her time either hanging out at Grey's house, or helping Okamura. She still seems to care for Kai, althought it seems that she is sharing quarters with Okamura (at least, they arrive/leave places together, and presumably lived together during the year that passed).

The fanlisting was created using Adobe PhotoShop 7.0 for the layout and coded in Notepad. Brushes were found by doing a search in Google for polaroid brushes. ;) The images were all screencapped by me, Shalott, and the background pattern was created by me.

The fanlisting name was chosen because it is merely chance that these two happened to end up travelling together. What the anime has in store for them is yet to be seen; however I believe that thier relationship will continue to develop due to the experiences that they have shared; experiences that would seem like nightmares to anyone who has not been involved. Of course, watch the anime prove me wrong and kill off one (or both) of them in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, I think they have a great chemistry and I hope to see further interaction between them!
